NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Display Seals Contest

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a chance to drive for a possible winning score. However Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the game.
